Gozo Transfer Station - Quality Policy

In line with Malta’s sustainable environmental and waste management strategy, Wasteserv seeks to provide a national service through its waste recovery and treatment processes employed at the Waste Treatment & Transfer Station in Tal-Kus, Xewkija, Gozo. The facility has been established to: (i) sort and bale dry recyclables, (ii) compact municipal solid waste & organic waste, (iii) shred bulky and green waste, and (iv) temporary store hazardous waste. The resulting fractions and / or waste types are thereafter transferred to other designated Wasteserv facilities or to third parties as applicable.


Wasteserv’s critical objective is to achieve and enhance customer satisfaction by providing a reliable yet environmentally aligned waste management services to (Gozitan) waste carriers, producers and brokers.


Through its operations at the KTS facility, and the various supporting branches, Wasteserv will strive to:

- Maximise the extraction of dry recyclables;

- Achieve the predefined compaction levels for municipal solid waste & organic waste;

- Attain positive feedback from waste carriers, producers and brokers;

- Minimise customer complaints and;

- Comply with Environmental Permit EP028/15.


To implement this policy we have adopted a management system based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.


We are committed to continually improve our management system and its effectiveness constantly and repeatedly through established mechanisms. This policy shall be communicated to, and understood by, all personnel within the organisation.


This Policy is reviewed periodically to ensure that our focus on customer requirements is maintained and that the measures of our promise to the customer are achieved.
